How to Adjust Graphics Settings in Unreal Editor
I often find myself wrestling with the need to change graphics settings in the Unreal Editor. This stems from a preference for high frame rates over visual quality during level design, as it enhances usability.
Typically, I adjust the graphics settings from the Level Viewport's top left corner in the Editor. But, when I switch the quality setting to Auto
, the interface vanishes, leading me on a cumbersome journey through menus to find the graphics settings again.
To save you this hassle, here's a quick guide to retrieving and adjusting your graphics settings.
Step 1: Locate the Settings
First, click on the Settings
button located above the Outliner at the top right corner. Scroll down to Scalability
. Here, you'll find the Engine Scalability Settings
button for detailed graphics adjustments.
Step 2: Modify the Settings
In the Scalability Group
, you can choose any button and set your preferred level, like Low, as illustrated in the screenshot. This action will display the graphics settings in the Level Viewport's top left. Now, you can effortlessly modify your graphics settings right there.
Be mindful that if you select Auto
under Scalability Groups, the settings will disappear from the Level Viewport, and you'll need to navigate back to this spot.
